Lost In The Woods Storytime
Once upon a time, deep in a vast, ancient forest, there lived a young girl named Sarah. She had always loved the woods—its towering trees, the way the sunlight filtered through the leaves, and the sounds of birds singing high above. But today, something was different.
Sarah had wandered farther into the forest than she ever had before. She’d been following a trail she thought she knew, but the deeper she went, the more unfamiliar it became. She glanced around, trying to find some sign of the path, but the trees seemed to close in on her, blocking out the sky.
At first, she wasn’t worried. She’d always found her way back before. But as the minutes turned into hours, she began to feel a creeping unease. The forest, once a friendly place, now felt oppressive and unwelcoming. The wind whispered through the branches in strange, almost haunting ways, and the shadows seemed to stretch longer than they should.
Her heart began to race. Sarah started walking faster, hoping to catch sight of a clearing, a trail marker, anything familiar. But no matter which way she turned, the trees were the same—tall, thick, and unyielding.
She called out, her voice trembling, “Hello? Is anyone there?” But her words were swallowed by the forest. There was no answer, only the rustling of leaves and the distant call of an owl.
As dusk settled in, Sarah realized she was truly lost. She sat down on a fallen log, trying to calm herself. Her eyes scanned the darkening woods, searching for any sign of hope. That’s when she noticed something strange—there, just ahead, was a soft glow coming from between two large oak trees.
Curious, Sarah stood up and made her way toward the light. As she got closer, the glow became brighter and warmer, casting a comforting light around her. And there, in the center of the glowing spot, was a small clearing, unlike anything she’d seen in the forest before. The grass was soft, and wildflowers bloomed in vibrant colors. At the center of the clearing was an ancient stone well, its surface covered in moss.
Without thinking, Sarah approached the well. The air felt thick with magic, and she could almost hear whispers, like the voices of the forest itself, calling her closer.
As she leaned over the edge of the well to peer inside, a soft voice echoed in her mind. "Not all who wander the woods are lost forever. Trust the forest, Sarah, and you will find your way."
Sarah stepped back, blinking in confusion. Had she imagined that? Was it just the wind? But when she looked around, the path back home seemed clearer, as though the trees themselves had opened a way.
With newfound hope, Sarah walked toward the path that had once been hidden, and as she did, the forest seemed to embrace her, its shadows no longer threatening, but gentle and welcoming. By the time she reached the edge of the woods, the moon was high, casting a silver glow across the world.
And from that night on, Sarah knew that the forest wasn’t just a place of trees and trails—it was
